With all the hiking & trail walking to be done in the National Parks, it seemed like a good idea to take a break & try something different. Josh found ATV rentals near Bryce Canyon through this company, & we were excited to see what it was like. I was a little suspicious that the “awesome views” were a little over-hyped, especially since we were just leaving Zion.

ATV DayOur guide took “3 pictures from different angles” (it was a very specific thing, I guess) before he sent us on our merry way.

Cow PastureWe absolutely loved this day. We drove through cow pastures, saw deer, (almost got hit by a giant deer), drove up into the canyons, rode through the valley of canyons, a little bit of everything. It was an awesome way to experience the land and see the views.

Utah Prairie DogsThe guide was also VERY excited about our Utah prairie dog sighting. So there they are.

ATV Day 048

The best part of all of this is that we were alone with our map the whole time. Stopping to check the map was usually a good time to hop off for a bit & change drivers. We never passed anyone on our trail and weren’t stuck following in the dust of anyone. That’s kind of a big deal for someone like me!

ATV Trail Overlook

ATV Trail OverlookThe views farrrr surpassed my expectations – from the road I never would have guessed that these canyons were hiding back in the distance.

Boss.By the end of the day we were shivering and starving and a little exhausted (okay, mostly me). The sun had just gone down as we raced the last leg of the trail back to the rental company, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to find two hot bananas in our glove box waiting to warm my hands. Mmmmmmm.. Hot bananas.
