This was a weekend of switching gears.
Relaxing. We finally got Doug (the tree, named Doug every year after our first Christmas tree, the original Doug) adorned with lights. Putting the lights on the tree is the best part of decorating for Christmas, isn’t it? They make any space feel cozy & welcoming. And they look pretty on chairs too. *wink*
Thinking about Heaven. This weekend we attended the memorial service for a family friend who just completed his battle with cancer and is now whole once again, in heaven. He was 31, one year older than me. He had a rough rough go, Friends, and now he has inherited heavenly rewards that we can’t even imagine. When I had my cancer scare 1 1/2 years ago, he had been fighting his for a year already. Needless to say, he has been much on our minds and in our hearts for quite some time.
Our time on earth is fleeting. And especially in light of this past weekend and this coming holiday, I am overwhelmingly thankful for my Savior. Can I get an AMEN?
Celebrating. This adorable frosting-eater just turned 3, and Saturday night was party night around here. Having a nephew is pretty much the best thing ever. And just for fun, click here to see one of his gifts.
How was your weekend?
