Oh, Friends, I hope you’re in the mood for some gospel music this morning. We sang this in church yesterday and it’s been playing in my head ever since. Enjoy!

He’s Sweet I Know

He’s sweet I know
He’s sweet I know
Dark clouds may rise
And strong winds may blow
But, I can tell the world
Wherever I may go
That I have found a Savior
And He’s sweet I know

I can’t forget
When I was sad
Head hanging down
And my soul feeling bad
But, all I could say
Was “Lord, take my heart”
You know, Jesus heard me praying
And He gave me a song.

He’s sweet I know
He’s sweet I know
Dark clouds may rise
And strong winds may blow
But, I can tell the world
Wherever I may go
That I have found a Savior
And He’s sweet I know.

Sometimes I’m tried
By Satan’s snares
And my burdens seem
So hard to bear
And I’m talked about, Lord
In whatever I do
But, I know a Savior
And He’ll take me on through

He’s sweet I know
He’s sweet I know
Dark clouds may rise
And strong winds may blow
But, I can tell the world
Wherever I may go
That I have found a Savior
And He’s sweet I know.

For those of us who don’t recognize the song, it’s Mahalia Jackson. (I know, Dad! All those years I “suffered through” her music when you played it on trips and now here we are.)

Now watch this video, it’ll drive the point home.

Oh by the way, you may notice that the song is by Mahalia Jackson, but the lady singing in the video is Myrtle Jackson. Not sure what the connection is, if any, so if you’re educated on these Jackson ladies, I’d love to hear about it!
